Difference Between Agency Models and Freelance Models

At Velvet Halo Group, a modeling and talent hub, we represent both agency models and freelance models. Each category offers unique opportunities and benefits depending on the type of career a model wishes to pursue.

Agency Models

Agency models are represented and managed directly by us.

They typically work within their local area or assigned studios and almost never travel, except in special cases—for example, if one of our partner studios requests a fresh face or if a model happens to be abroad for another business or work for a partner of us and can take on modeling jobs as a secondary opportunity. Something that can get arranged for you by us to get a job and a modeling opportunity abroad!!

Payments vary depending on the type of gig, and we handle negotiations to secure the best possible rate.

Jobs are usually more structured and consistent, with the agency taking care of client communication, contracts, and bookings.

Freelance Models

Freelance models also fall under our representation but work with more independence.

They often enjoy higher payments compared to agency models, though this still depends on the specific gig.

They can travel freely and collaborate with multiple agencies, studios, and brands worldwide without limitations.

In many cases, freelance models also get to keep the products they model with as part of the job.

Freelancers manage more of their own negotiations and scheduling, giving them flexibility but also more responsibility.
